ABOUT OUR FAMILY

Paul Snyder

The metaphor that most defines me as a Christian is God’s giving sight to the blind. I was a willfully blind sinner whom God graciously rescued from the power of Satan’s lies. I am so very grateful that he opened my eyes to confront my sinfulness and see, in all its stark and beautiful contrast, the Gospel of Jesus. Since the day he rescued me from my suppression of the gospel, he hasn’t ceased to surprise and change me with his truth. Thank you God for your indescribable gift! (Acts 26:18)

I’ve trained in various places.

I have an undergrad in Church Music and an MA in Bible, an MDiv from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and received my ThM at Westminster Theological Seminary

I also serve/work in my local church and community.

I was in pastoral work for about 4 years in MI then served for 5 years as an assistant pastor and audio/visual coordinator for Calvary Baptist Church in Lansdale, PA. During that time I also served as a chaplain for the 111ATW in the Air National Guard. I now serve as a full-time chaplain on active duty in the Air Force which includes sometimes pastoring a congregations that meets in the military chapel as well providing counseling and spiritual assistance to airmen and their families. I've also served as a marriage mentor, small group leader and part of the worship/production team at various local churches where I've been stationed.

I'm a pretty normal person. I am navigating through a life in the Air Force. I am attempting to raise three children (and stay sane.) I work as a Speech-Language Pathologist at a local hospital for a day or two a week. I'm involved in a few church ministries. I hang out with friends over coffee.  I flirt with my husband (and wish for more kid-free  evenings so that I could spent them with him, eating somewhere where I don’t have to do the dishes.) But in this framework of normalcy, I am faced with the the challenge  to obey God during all the small, seemingly insignificant moments of this life.

I’ve trained in various places.

I have both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in communication studies. I also have a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. I have completed graduate counseling courses at Christian Counseling and Education Foundation (CCEF) and obtained my Foundations in Biblical Counseling certificate.

I serve/work in my local church and community.

My family and I currently attend the chapel at Paul's base. At previous churches I've served as a marriage mentor, small group leader and part of the worship team. I've held positions on the boards of various PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel) chapters. I’ve spoken at women’s conferences and served as a Key Spouse for the Air Force. I’ve served as a counselor in a women’s ministries program at our previous church. I love to help other believers. I also love opening up my home for bible studies, dinners with airmen, students and all our friends and family.

I love reading all kinds of fiction. If you wonder what I'm doing, it's probably reading. My favorite type of book is action-adventure. Right now I'm reading the Percy Jackson series. I also like video games because I like the action. I play games like TABS (Totally Actuate Battle Simulator) and Human Fall Flat on my computer. I might write some recommendations for books and games that I like alot. I am a Christian that was baptized recently and I have been trying to be more like Jesus. I try hard to do the right thing and sometimes fail. But thanks to Gods never-stopping, never- giving up, always and forever love, I know I can be forgiven when I ask.

I enjoy snowboarding and like to read. My favorite book is Harry Potter (Ron Weasley is cool!), especially The Goblet of Fire!. Of course, I also like to play video games with my dad and jack and feel really accomplished when I win:]! Living in Alaska has been a challenge for me because I have to walk to school every day, but I love the snow! I believe in God and that Jesus died for me (and that's why I'm saved). As I "take the adventure that comes" (something my mom always says) I'll post about it!

I'm Meg. I like the my Bible app and my friend Judah. I like to learn about math and crafting. My favorite place is Hawaii because I like the beach and hotels with pools and hot tubs. I dress up like Wonder Woman and pretend that I am a super hero who saves the day.
