Praising God 5 & 6 are now reinvented for Spotify.

I have a favorite hymn album called “Hymns Triumphant: London Philharmonic Choir and National Philharmonic Orchestra.” The reason that I love this album so much is because my father used to play it almost every single week while I was growing up. I know those songs. I love those songs. If you were raised hearing and singing traditional hymns, you’ll agree that there is a kind of comfort to be found in many of the older texts with their uncomplicated melodies. So this evening I’ve put together a set of hymns that have God the Father as their focus. Most use the traditional melody but there are a couple that stray a little from the tried and true – but I still liked them : ) Hope you enjoy!

So when this stagnation happens (as it too often does), I turn to God and ask him to help. Only he can renew my heart. The Spirit can use the truths of these songs to enlighten my eyes to see him anew, even in the middle of this muddling day. So, please come, praise the Lord with me. Perhaps God will be gracious to us and we will be satisfied in him as we sing. First will be songs praising God for his love and we’ll move from this one beautiful truth and let the Spirit persuade us to offer more general praise.

"The Christian Gospel is that I am so flawed that Jesus had to die for me, yet I am so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for me. This leads to deep humility and deep confidence at the same time. It undermines both swaggering and sniveling. I cannot feel superior to anyone, and yet I have nothing to prove to anyone. I do not think more of myself or less of myself. Instead, I think of myself less."

God
