Songs for the Mission (1 & 2)

Mission’s Sunday is this Sunday! In celebration, please enjoy these two playlists, reworked and re-posted.

___________

This week is our church’s missions emphasis Sunday. We look forward to seeing all that God is doing through our missionaries, gifts and prayers for his church in Africa. And we look forward to praising God for all those great works. So today’s playlist is meant to stir up our hearts for greater participation in that worship and for greater participation in the great commission (Matthew 28:16–20)! Why? Only because Jesus wants us to (just like the 72!–Luke 10:1–3).

Also, a note about song #2. It is not (as one namless person in our household imagined) talking about Brandon Heath as “NEO” flying through the air only to make an (admitedly impressive) computer generated landing onto the “cold blacktop.” Rather, it’s talking about him landing in an airplane (I love you, Babe!:-D. I just thought I should clarify in case there was mass confusion :-). All that aside, I hope to sing his prayer to God this week: God, please give us your eyes for the lost. Please, make it so for me, for Liz, for my sons, and for Calvary Baptist Church!

It has been a very long time since we last posted a playlist on missions. Since our church is having a missions weekend it seemed like an appropriate time to do so. If you’re in the area, feel free to join us as Tim Kessee and John Hutcheson who helped create the “Dispatches from the Front” video series encourage us to follow after Christ.
