Songs of Love (1 & 2)

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. (1 John 3:1a)

Hello Friends! Today we are praising God that our family remained safe throughout Hurricane Sandy’s landfall. The wind was so strong. I couldn’t believe the force with which it seemed to smash into our house, rattling the windows and making the whole structure shake. During the more frightening moments I sat with the boys and we talked about our strong God, the one who creates and controls even the most formidable of storms (Jer 10:13). Once we’d agreed upon God’s might (“He BIG!” was Brenn’s determination : ) we talked about how this great God loves us. That we are held in his hands and cared for as precious children (Is 41:10).  What a wonderful truth! I hope that you are reminded of this great love as you listen to these songs.

And as far as the love of God is concerned: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? . . . No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35, 37–39)
