A Boat Trip from Kas: Day 4 of Our Road Trip

Writer's picture: LizLiz

The day began with an amazing meal at our adorable hotel named the Hideaway Hotel. I can't say enough good things about this lovely, family-run establishment. The food was served by a delightful Turkish grandma. She fussed over people and encouraged the consumption of vegetables, like every good grandma does : ) Fortunately, the vegetable selection was extensive and delicious. I've learned to love veggies for breakfast!

I also included the film evidence of Jack’s clothes line drama! Turns out, hanging up wet items to dry isn't his strength and some if his unmentionables ended up in the pool below our balcony. Much hilarity ensued. With his permission, I included the footage as a way to give ya'll a laugh : )

After breakfast we headed down to the Kas marina in order to join our captain, crew and other day trippers on the boat that we'd call home base for one day. We had bought our (insanely affordable!!!) tickets just the day before and were so excited about our day on the "Captain Ergun." Our gulet (the type of boat) roamed the coastline around Kas and we spent six hours visiting various swimming spots, seeing ancient Lycian ruins and exploring a tiny island village. The lunch was delicious and the sites were gorgeous. I've wanted to do a boat trip along the coast of Turkey ever since we arrived and the day did not disappoint.

I hope that you enjoy the pictures and video of our adventure! I loved using my drone more but was really thankful for a boat captain who was willing to film while I swam with the kids. It was a truly wonderful way to end our impromptu road trip! Out of the four towns that we visited, I would go back to Kas first!

"The Christian Gospel is that I am so flawed that Jesus had to die for me, yet I am so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for me. This leads to deep humility and deep confidence at the same time. It undermines both swaggering and sniveling. I cannot feel superior to anyone, and yet I have nothing to prove to anyone. I do not think more of myself or less of myself. Instead, I think of myself less."

God
